Burgess graduated with a degree in education in the spring of 1961 and was then drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. Famous quotes containing the word life:

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
    Bible: New Testament, Matthew 6:25.26.

    Jesus.

A tragic irony of life is that we so often achieve success or financial independence after the chief reason for which we sought it has passed away.
    Ellen Glasgow (1873–1945)
