Four Spot Day Gecko - Care and Maintenance in Captivity

Care and Maintenance in Captivity

These animals should be housed in pairs and need a well planted terrarium. The temperature should be about 28°C (locally around 30°C) during the day dropping to around 20°C at night. The daytime humidity should be maintained between 75 and 80%. It is important to include two cooler months with a daytime temperature of 24°C and 16°C at night. In captivity, these animals can be fed with crickets, wax moth larvae, fruit flies, mealworms and houseflies.

Famous quotes containing the words care, maintenance and/or captivity:

It has always been thought perfectly womanly to be a scrub- woman in the Legislature and to take care of the spittoons; that is entirely within the charmed circle of woman’s sphere; but for women to occupy any of those official seats would be degrading.
    Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)

War is in truth a disease in which the juices that serve health and maintenance are used for the sole purpose of nourishing something foreign, something at odds with nature.
    Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832)

    Had it pleased heaven
To try me with affliction, had they rained
All kind of sores and shames on my bare head,
Steeped me in poverty to the very lips,
Given to captivity me and my utmost hopes,
I should have found in some place of my soul
    A drop of patience.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
