Forum At Grace Cathedral
The Forum at Grace Cathedral is a series of stimulating conversations about faith and ethics in relation to the issues of our day. Leading public figures, musicians, theologians, economists, artists, scientists and writers bring some of the most innovative and interesting thinking to these public conversations at the cathedral, with the express aim of engaging minds and hearts to think in new ways about the world. It is moderated by the Very Rev. Dr. Jane Shaw, Dean of Grace Cathedral.
Famous quotes containing the words forum, grace and/or cathedral:
“What is called eloquence in the forum is commonly found to be rhetoric in the study. The orator yields to the inspiration of a transient occasion, and speaks to the mob before him, to those who can hear him; but the writer, whose more equable life is his occasion, and who would be distracted by the event and the crowd which inspire the orator, speaks to the intellect and heart of mankind, to all in any age who can understand him.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Angels and ministers of grace defend us!”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“... the first cathedral you see remains with you forever as the cathedral of the world.”
—M. E. W. Sherwood (18261903)
