The Ford VN platform is Ford Motor Company's code designation for North American-designed vans. The platform itself was introduced in 1975, when Ford redesigned the Econoline. In the 1980s, the designation was used for the Ford Aerostar mid-size van platform, which is mechanically unrelated to the E-Series.

Famous quotes containing the words ford and/or platform:
“I am the first to admit that I am no great orator or no person that got where I have gotten by any William Jennings Bryan technique.”
—Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
“Across Parker Avenue from the fort is the Site of the Old Gallows, where 83 men “stood on nothin’, a-lookin’ up a rope.” The platform had a trap wide enought to “accommodate” 12 men, but half that number was the highest ever reached. On two occasions six miscreants were executed. There were several groups of five, some quartets and trios.”
