Compatibility
- Certain commands, such as "Turn-by-turn directions", "Vehicle Health Report", "Weather", climate control commands, shopping, and several other commands are not available in some countries such as Canada due to compatibility issues, and Federal and Government Communication issues, and may not be addressed until these issues are worked out. For example, many commands are not available because there is no French equivalent for the English command.
- Ford Canada expects these to be addressed in upcoming versions of the software after the issues are worked out in detail but there does not appear to be a firm due-date.
- Apple's newest iOS technologies may replace some of the navigational commands due to its proprietary new mapping system in iOS 6, and SIRI may be introduced into Sync-enabled vehicles using Bluetooth in late 2013.
- Currently in Canada there are less than 20 available commands that actually work. Some commands can be issued such as "Services" or "Route Status", but these commands do nothing. If you are listening to the radio and issue one of these commands, Sync will simply go back to playing the radio.
