For Sentimental Reasons (band)

For Sentimental Reasons is an American nostalgia band and have usually played as a sextet of three men and three women, the women occasionally acting in the role of The Andrews Sisters, each wearing a red, white or blue dress. They typically play songs of the World War II years, often at reunions of war veterans. They have played at venues across the USA and Costa Rica, sometimes on ships or military bases associated with the war years.

Formed in 1994, For Sentimental Reasons chose 1944 (fifty years earlier) as a pivotal moment for their selection of songs and material.

Famous quotes containing the words sentimental and/or reasons:

Then a sentimental passion of a vegetable fashion must excite your
    languid spleen,
An attachment a la Plato for a bashful young potato, or a
    not-too-French French bean!
    Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (1836–1911)

One of the many reasons for the bewildering and tragic character of human existence is the fact that social organization is at once necessary and fatal. Men are forever creating such organizations for their own convenience and forever finding themselves the victims of their home-made monsters.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)
