Football League Youth Alliance

The Football League Youth Alliance (known sometimes as the Puma Youth Alliance after its sponsors, Puma) is the second tier of youth football competition in England, beneath the Professional Development League (until 2012 known as FA Premier Academy League). It was founded in 1997 at the same time as the expansion of the Premier Academy League (which is for clubs with Academy status), and is contested between Football League member clubs with Centre of Excellence status.

Famous quotes containing the words football, league, youth and/or alliance:

In this dream that dogs me I am part
Of a silent crowd walking under a wall,
Leaving a football match, perhaps, or a pit,
    All moving the same way.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

Half a league, half a league,
    Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
    Rode the six hundred.
    “Forward the Light Brigade!
    Alfred Tennyson (1809–1892)

Women stand related to beautiful nature around us, and the enamoured youth mixes their form with moon and stars, with woods and waters, and the pomp of summer. They heal us of awkwardness by their words and looks. We observe their intellectual influence on the most serious student. They refine and clear his mind: teach him to put a pleasing method into what is dry and difficult.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

It is a power stronger than will.... Could a stone escape from the laws of gravity? Impossible. Impossible, for evil to form an alliance with good.
Isidore Ducasse, Comte de LautrĂ©amont (1846–1870)
