- Fletcher Allen Receives National Environmental Award
For the third consecutive year, Fletcher Allen has been named to Practice Greenhealth’s Environmental Leadership Circle, that organization’s highest award. Practice Greenhealth is the country’s leading association devoted to environmentally responsible health care. The Leadership Circle has a membership of just 24 health care facilities throughout the country. This honor is given to facilities that “exemplify environmental excellence and are setting the highest standards for environmental practices and sustainability in health care.”
- Nutrition Services Receives National Environmental Awards
Fletcher Allen’s Nutrition Services program has been recognized with two awards from Health Care Without Harm, an international coalition of more than 430 organizations working to transform the health care industry. Fletcher Allen won first place in two categories – sustainable food procurement and public policy and advocacy.
- In 2011, the Radiation Oncology Facility Earned a LEED Rating
Fletcher Allen’s new Radiation Oncology facility has earned gold certification in the nationally recognized Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. Gold is the second highest of four certification levels. This is the first hospital project in Vermont to be certified at the gold level, and only the second in New England.
