Government Flags
See also: Flags of the Governors of the U.S. StatesAlongside the state flag, there are other flags used by the government of Tennessee. The Flag for the Governor of Tennessee has been in use since 1939. It is a scarlet flag, with four stars, one in each corner, and the State Military Crest, a tree with three white stars, in the center. The Tennessee General Assembly has its own flag as well.

Famous quotes containing the words government and/or flags:
“The government is huge, stupid, greedy and makes nosy, officious and dangerous intrusions into the smallest corners of lifethis much we can stand. But the real problem is that government is boring. We could cure or mitigate the other ills Washington visits on us if we could only bring ourselves to pay attention to Washington itself. But we cannot.”
—P.J. (Patrick Jake)
“Still, it is dear defiance now to carry
Fair flags of you above my indignation,”
—Gwendolyn Brooks (b. 1917)
