Animated Series Version
Hanna-Barbera Productions adapted Fish Police into an animated television series that first aired on CBS in 1992, lasting only six episodes over one season. The show was cancelled after airing only three episodes; the remaining three episodes have never been aired in the U.S. Fish Police had a decidedly more mature tone than most other animated Hanna-Barbara series, with episodes often filled with innuendo and cases of mild language. It also featured several stars' voices, including Ed Asner, John Ritter, Tim Curry, Hector Elizondo, Buddy Hackett, Megan Mullally, Robert Guillaume, and JoBeth Williams.

Famous quotes containing the words animated, series and/or version:
“And what if all of animated nature
Be but organic Harps diversely framed,
That tremble into thought, as oer them sweeps
Plastic and vast, one intellectual breeze,
At once the Soul of each, and God of all?”
—Samuel Taylor Coleridge (17721834)
“As Cuvier could correctly describe a whole animal by the contemplation of a single bone, so the observer who has thoroughly understood one link in a series of incidents should be able to accurately state all the other ones, both before and after.”
—Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (18591930)
“Truth cannot be defined or tested by agreement with the world; for not only do truths differ for different worlds but the nature of agreement between a world apart from it is notoriously nebulous. Ratherspeaking loosely and without trying to answer either Pilates question or Tarskisa version is to be taken to be true when it offends no unyielding beliefs and none of its own precepts.”
—Nelson Goodman (b. 1906)
