Athletics

As of the fall of 2010 FPD competes in the Georgia High School Association. In the Georgia Independent School Association, the FPD athletic program has won 28 State Championships and 127 Region Championships since it was founded in 1970. The girl's basketball team and wrestling team won their respective 2009 state championships. In 2010 Coach Jimmy Turner helped to lead the Vikings to its second baseball State Championship in school history, they last won in 1992 under Turner. 2010 was their last year in the GISA. In the spring of 2011, the Lady Vikings soccer team, under the direction of head coach Josh Trieste, won the GHSA Class A State Championship in their first year of competition in the GHSA.

FPD's Athletic Program won the 2009 All Sports Award recognizing them as having the most successful athletic program in the GISA. This is the third consecutive year that they have won this award.
