First Baptist Church of Manila - The Call For A Senior Pastor

The Call For A Senior Pastor

In 1987, Pastor Antonio Ormeo retired as Senior Pastor of FBCM after 32 years of very difficult but fruitful ministry in the church and in the ABCLVM.

In 1989, FBCM called Pastor Ebenezer Nacita from Philippine American Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, USA as Interim Senior Pastor after Pastor Antonio Ormeo retired. In the same year, the Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute pulled out from the ABCLVM to become the Metro Manila School of the Bible and later merged with Center for Biblical Studies and the Hilltop Ministries in Antipolo. In 1991, Dr. Antonio Ormeo with his sons Pastor Edwin Ormeo and Pastor Samuel Ormeo began working among Filipinos in California. Pastor Ed became pastor of the Filipino church in West Covina, California, the Christian Fellowship Bible Church. This church had been very hospitable to visiting pastors and missionaries from the Philippines including those from the AFBCP who many years ago had not been in fellowship with him. Pastor Samuel Ormeo, who pastors the Community Missionary Baptist Church in Glendale, Los Angeles, California had set up missions partnership through scholarship assistance to deserving students at Doane. His church also has been in partnership with the missionaries of PABWE in Thailand these past many years.to the church

Famous quotes containing the words call and/or senior:

When we are in love, the sentiment is too great to be contained whole within us; it radiates out to our beloved, finds in her a surface which stops it, forces it to return to its point of departure, and it is this rebound of our own tenderness which we call the other’s affection and which charms us more than when it first went out because we do not see that it comes from us.
    Marcel Proust (1871–1922)

Adolescents have the right to be themselves. The fact that you were the belle of the ball, the captain of the lacrosse team, the president of your senior class, Phi Beta Kappa, or a political activist doesn’t mean that your teenager will be or should be the same....Likewise, the fact that you were a wallflower, uncoordinated, and a C student shouldn’t mean that you push your child to be everything you were not.
    Laurence Steinberg (20th century)
