Fidelis Morgan - Life and Career

Life and Career

Morgan was born in a gypsy caravan that stood in a corner of the grounds of the ancient Abbey of Amesbury, halfway between Stonehenge and Woodhenge. Her parents were displaced Liverpudlians, and her father found work as a dentist in Amesbury; her mother was a painter. Morgan's family moved several times when she was a child, but she was raised mostly in Liverpool. She studied at the Birmingham University, receiving a degree there in the Department of Drama and Theatre Arts.

Famous quotes containing the words life and/or career:

I am Anne Rutledge who sleep beneath these weeds,
Beloved in life of Abraham Lincoln,
Wedded to him, not through union,
    But through separation
    Edgar Lee Masters (1869–1950)

The problem, thus, is not whether or not women are to combine marriage and motherhood with work or career but how they are to do so—concomitantly in a two-role continuous pattern or sequentially in a pattern involving job or career discontinuities.
    Jessie Bernard (20th century)
