The FIBA World Championship for Women (also called the Basketball World Championship for Women) is a world basketball tournament for women's national teams held quadrennially. It is held on the same cycle and (through 2014) in the same year as the FIBA Basketball World Cup for men, but in a different country. Unlike the men's tournament, which changed its name from the "FIBA World Championship" after the 2010 edition, the women's tournament did not change its name.
