Canada's largest festivals are represented by the Canadian Festivals Coalition, formed in 2010 to lobby the federal government for stable funding under the "Marquee Tourism Events Program". The lobby group claims that the top 15 festivals in Canada "attract 12,600,000 attendees annually, contribute $650 million in GDP to their local economies...".
