Ferdinand Kowarz

Ferdinand Kowarz (1838, Planá – 1914, Marianske Lazne), was a Bohemian-Austrian entomologist who described many new species of Diptera mainly from central Europe

Kowarz was a post office official. To supplement his income he sold collections of Diptera to others in the same field.
