Fellowship of Christian Athletes - Camps

Camps

Every summer for several years, the FCA has held sports and leadership camps for youth and high school students. The camps are held at different colleges throughout the United States, and feature professional athletes such as Steve Fitzhugh, Ray Simmons, Mike Cobb, Wade Hopkins and former NFL player Harry Flaherty. The FCA camps feature sport practices and conditioning as well as daily chapels and huddles. FCA also puts on summer camps for High School and Middle school aged athletes. Some of the camps are focused on presenting the Gospel to kids who are not Christians, while others are leadership camps. Leadership camps are focused on encouraging and helping student athletes who are followers of Christ to not only grow in there personal walk with Christ, but to have an affect on their teammates and classmates at their school. These camps are ran by FCA staff members, but also have college students, commonly athletes as "huddle leaders". These huddle leaders are given a group of students throughout the camp to pour into and be there for them as well as to teach the lessons given to them. These camps are incredible successful and help FCA to build student leaders who help staff in their schools throughout the school year!
