The club was officially founded as Lucky-Goldstar FC in 1983, by the Lucky-Goldstar Group. FC Seoul have won 5 League titles, 2 League Cups and 1 FA Cup. FC Seoul is one of the most successful and the most popular club in the K-League, with financial backing from the GS Group.
FC Seoul are the reigning K-League winners.
The club is currently managed by FC Seoul legend Choi Yong-Soo.
