Today
Currently, the football team of FC Barreirense is Iª Division from District League of Setúbal Football Association. The construction of new sports infrastructure, coupled with the poor economic climate across the world don't allow that the club is on a place that his history deserve.
In basketball, the club's professional men's basketball team plays in the Portuguese top league Liga Portuguesa Basquetebol.

Famous quotes containing the word today:
“In 1600 the specialization of games and pastimes did not extend beyond infancy; after the age of three or four it decreased and disappeared. From then on the child played the same games as the adult, either with other children or with adults. . . . Conversely, adults used to play games which today only children play.”
—Philippe Ariés (20th century)
“At times it seems that the media have become the mainstream culture in children’s lives. Parents have become the alternative. Americans once expected parents to raise their children in accordance with the dominant cultural messages. Today they are expected to raise their children in opposition to it.”
—Ellen Goodman (20th century)
“We have today and I could call their name
Who know exactly what is out of joint
To make their verse and their excuses lame.
They’ve tried to grasp with too much social fact
Too large a situation.”
—Robert Frost (1874–1963)
