Faza FM - Background

Background

Radio Fiza (operating as Radio Faza) was the sixth of the fifteen original pilot Access Radio stations in the United Kingdom which paved the way for the full launch of community radio stations in 2002. The Asian Women's Project originally provided programming on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays (0700-2300) and Sunday between 1200-2100 hours. The rest of the week consisted of programming from the Karimia Institute which are now broadcasting as Dawn FM. This is due to the fact that Karmia Institute lost its bid to keep Radio Faza once the original Radio license had expired. Since 28 March 2006 97.1FM has consisted solely of programming from the Asian Women's Project. Their slogan is 'For your information, communication and entertainment needs'. Asian Women's Project has experience with local community Radio, as it ran Radio Kiran from 2000 until the birth of Radio Faza.

Famous quotes containing the word background:

... every experience in life enriches one’s background and should teach valuable lessons.
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)

Silence is the universal refuge, the sequel to all dull discourses and all foolish acts, a balm to our every chagrin, as welcome after satiety as after disappointment; that background which the painter may not daub, be he master or bungler, and which, however awkward a figure we may have made in the foreground, remains ever our inviolable asylum, where no indignity can assail, no personality can disturb us.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

They were more than hostile. In the first place, I was a south Georgian and I was looked upon as a fiscal conservative, and the Atlanta newspapers quite erroneously, because they didn’t know anything about me or my background here in Plains, decided that I was also a racial conservative.
Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)
