History
FM 3248 was originally designated in 1971 from U.S. Highways 77 and 83 southwestward to U.S. Highway 281. In 1973 it was extended eastward to its intersection with F.M.1847, and again extended eastward in 1979 to its intersection with F.M. 511. This is its current designation, although the portion west of F.M. 1847 was technically designated an Urban Road in 1995.
