History
FM 2347 was originally designated in 1955 as a route from US 190 (now FM 485) at Maysfield to a road intersection. It was extended in 1958 to Jones Prairie and extended again in 1961 to FM 2027 at Cross Roads. In 1966, this route was cancelled and combined with FM 979. The current FM 2347 was designated onto its current alignment in 1967. In 1995, the road officially became UR 2347.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“When the landscape buckles and jerks around, when a dust column of debris rises from the collapse of a block of buildings on bodies that could have been your own, when the staves of history fall awry and the barrel of time bursts apart, some turn to prayer, some to poetry: words in the memory, a stained book carried close to the body, the notebook scribbled by handa center of gravity.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
“The history of philosophy is to a great extent that of a certain clash of human temperaments.”
—William James (18421910)
“False history gets made all day, any day,
the truth of the new is never on the news
False history gets written every day

asking the clay all questions but her own.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
