History
FM 1419 was originally designated in 1949, from the junction with FM 511 to South Point. Later that year, the northward extension from South Point to SH 4 was approved; a portion of that extension replaced FM 511. The western addition, to SH 4 in central Brownsville, was designated in 1955. In 1995, the eastern section of the route, from FM 511 to SH 4 east of Brownsville, was officially redesignated as Urban Road 1419 (UR 1419); as with other urban roads, TxDOT continues to sign the route using the Farm Road marker.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“I think that Richard Nixon will go down in history as a true folk hero, who struck a vital blow to the whole diseased concept of the revered image and gave the American virtue of irreverence and skepticism back to the people.”
—William Burroughs (b. 1914)
“Books of natural history aim commonly to be hasty schedules, or inventories of Gods property, by some clerk. They do not in the least teach the divine view of nature, but the popular view, or rather the popular method of studying nature, and make haste to conduct the persevering pupil only into that dilemma where the professors always dwell.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Anything in history or nature that can be described as changing steadily can be seen as heading toward catastrophe.”
—Susan Sontag (b. 1933)
