Falco (musician) - Death

Death

Falco died of severe injuries received when his Mitsubishi Pajero collided with a bus on the road linking the towns of Villa Montellano and Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic on 6 February 1998, just two weeks before his 41st birthday. Later, it was determined that the driver of the bus was speeding and as a result of this determination, the bus driver served three years in prison. At the time of Falco's death, he was planning a comeback. He was buried in the Zentralfriedhof (Central Cemetery) in Vienna, Austria.

Famous quotes containing the word death:

I asked myself, “Is it going to prevent me from getting out of here? Is there a risk of death attached to it? Is it permanently disabling? Is it permanently disfiguring? Lastly, is it excruciating?” If it doesn’t fit one of those five categories, then it isn’t important.
Rhonda Cornum, United States Army Major. As quoted in Newsweek magazine, “Perspectives” page (July 13, 1992)

Buddhists and Christians contrive to agree about death

Making death their ideal basis for different ideals.
The Communists however disapprove of death
    Except when practical.
    William Empson (1906–1984)

But, when nothing subsists from a distant past, after the death of others, after the destruction of objects, only the senses of smell and taste, weaker but more enduring, more intangible, more persistent, more faithful, continue for a long time, like souls, to remember, to wait, to hope, on the ruins of all the rest, to bring without flinching, on their nearly impalpable droplet, the immense edifice of memory.
    Marcel Proust (1871–1922)
