Fake Orgasm - Faking Orgasm and Gender

Faking Orgasm and Gender

Contrary to popular beliefs, women are not the only gender to fake orgasms. In web surveys 37–50% women and 31–48% of men admitted they had faked orgasm at least once. A random-sample telephone poll of 1,501 Americans has shown that 48% of women and 11% of men faked orgasm. Faking orgasms in men becomes easier while using condoms, since ejaculation usually accompanies orgasm in males.

Famous quotes containing the words faking and/or gender:

It especially helps if you know that we’re all faking our adulthood—even your parents and their parents. Beneath these adult trappings—in our president, in our parents, in you and me—lurk the emotions of a child. If we know that only about ourselves, we become infantile; if we understand that about everybody, then we have nothing to be ashamed of—unless, of course, we go around acting like a child and expecting everyone else to act like grownups.
    Frank Pittman (20th century)

Most women of [the WW II] generation have but one image of good motherhood—the one their mothers embodied. . . . Anything done “for the sake of the children” justified, even ennobled the mother’s role. Motherhood was tantamount to martyrdom during that unique era when children were gods. Those who appeared to put their own needs first were castigated and shunned—the ultimate damnation for a gender trained to be wholly dependent on the acceptance and praise of others.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)
