Fajar LRT Station - History

History

Before (and during) the erection of Fajar Station, residents of this part of Bukit Panjang Town were served by a bus service that called on the bus stop just next to the Fajar Station, namely the late TIBS Bus number 179. This bus brought passengers around Bukit Panjang Town and towards the Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT where they could transfer easily to the train system mentioned.

TIBS Bus Service 179 has since been terminated. Fajar, thus the Bukit Panjang LRT Line, now caters to the residents living in the vicinity of the station and still brings passengers to the Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

History has neither the venerableness of antiquity, nor the freshness of the modern. It does as if it would go to the beginning of things, which natural history might with reason assume to do; but consider the Universal History, and then tell us,—when did burdock and plantain sprout first?
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Gossip is charming! History is merely gossip. But scandal is gossip made tedious by morality.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)

I believe that in the history of art and of thought there has always been at every living moment of culture a “will to renewal.” This is not the prerogative of the last decade only. All history is nothing but a succession of “crises”Mof rupture, repudiation and resistance.... When there is no “crisis,” there is stagnation, petrification and death. All thought, all art is aggressive.
    Eugène Ionesco (b. 1912)
