History
The airline was established in 1987 under the name of IFA-Flugbetriebs GmbH as a fully owned subsidiary of non-profit company, IFA International Flight Ambulance. In 1989, it was privatized and redeployed under the Flight Ambulance Service name. In 1992 FAI took over Grundig AG air services as part of an outsourcing strategy and structured in its present corporate form. In 2003 the company name was changed from FAI Airservice to FAI rent-a-jet. In 2004, FAI generated revenues of over 15 million euros. As of September 2012, 51% of the company is owned by Marfin Investment Group.
