F. W. Moorman
Frederic William Moorman (1872-1918) was a professor of English Language and Literature at Leeds University in England. He grew up in Devonshire. Following university study in Strasburg, he joined the staff of the Yorkshire College in 1898; this became part of Leeds University when that was granted its charter in 1904. When a Chair of English Language was instituted in 1912, Moorman was appointed as its first professor.
