Exciter Tour

Exciter Tour was a 2001 concert tour by English electronic band Depeche Mode in support of the group's 10th studio album, Exciter, which was released in May 2001.

The tour began with a North American leg; the group performed one rehearsal show and two "warm-up" concerts prior to the official tour kick-off in Montreal, Canada in mid-June. The leg continued until mid-August, concluding with two shows in Anaheim, California.

In late August 2001, the group began a European leg, which kicked off in Tallinn and culminated early November in Mannheim, Germany. This was the final show of the tour; a second European leg was planned for the summer of 2002, however this never materialised. In total, the band played 84 concerts, performing to over 1.5 million people in 24 countries.

The concerts held in Paris were filmed and later issued in May 2002 on a DVD release entitled One Night in Paris.

Famous quotes containing the word tour:

Do you know I believe that [William Jennings] Bryan will force his nomination on the Democrats again. I believe he will either do this by advocating Prohibition, or else he will run on a Prohibition platform independent of the Democrats. But you will see that the year before the election he will organize a mammoth lecture tour and will make Prohibition the leading note of every address.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)
