Evernight Games - From Canon To Monarchy

From Canon To Monarchy

Following a decision by Dustin Collis in September 2009 to finally close Evernight Games, the community returned back to the name Monarchy. Tempers Ball was left online to ensure that players could find their way to the new incarnation. Famous quotes containing the words canon and/or monarchy:

    O! that this too too solid flesh would melt,
    Thaw and resolve itself into a dew;
    Or that the Everlasting had not fix’d
    His canon ‘gainst self-slaughter! O God! O God!
    How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable
    Seem to me all the uses of this world.
    Fie on’t! O fie! ‘tis an unweeded garden,
    That grows to seed;
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    People think they have taken quite an extraordinarily bold step forward when they have rid themselves of belief in hereditary monarchy and swear by the democratic republic. In reality, however, the state is nothing but a machine for the oppression of one class by another, and indeed in the democratic republic no less than in the monarchy.
    Friedrich Engels (1820–1895)
