Euphorbia Myrsinites - Danger To Humans and Pets

Danger To Humans and Pets

The milky sap can cause significant skin and eye irritations. Wear goggles, gloves and protective gear when removing plants. Children are more susceptible than adults to the ill effects of myrtle spurge; they must not be allowed to play in proximity to this species. Pets can have similar reactions to myrtle spurge and should also be kept away from it.

The species has been found to be virulently allelopathic. There are currently no known bio-controls for the species and chemical sprays have been found to be ineffective.
