Famous quotes containing the words ethnic, racial and/or origins:

Motherhood is the second oldest profession in the world. It never questions age, height, religious preference, health, political affiliation, citizenship, morality, ethnic background, marital status, economic level, convenience, or previous experience.
    Erma Bombeck (20th century)

I don’t think Dr. King helped racial harmony, I think he helped racial justice. The job of an activist is to make people tense and cause social change.
    Al, Reverend Sharpton (b. 1954)

Grown onto every inch of plate, except
Where the hinges let it move, were living things,
    Barnacles, mussels, water weeds—and one
Blue bit of polished glass, glued there by time:
    The origins of art.
    Howard Moss (b. 1922)
