ETC (TV Channel)
ETC Entertainment Central is a television network in the Philippines. Owned by Radio Philippines Network and Solar Entertainment Corporation thru Solar TV Network, Inc. which also created its sister stations, Solar TV (previously occupied by its former ccooperation), Solar News Channel, Universal Channel, Diva Universal, 2nd Avenue, Jack TV, Basketball TV, Solar Sports, The Game Channel and JACK City. It is currently available over RPN flagship station DZKB-TV channel 9. (Philippine FREE-TV) after it had been pulled out from the cable TV, although it is still being aired via SkyCable & Destiny Cable channel 14, G Sat TV channel 4, Cablelink 34, Smart myTV and other affiliate cable companies in the Philippines. This station studios are located at Broadcast City, Old Balara Capitol Hills, Diliman, Quezon City and Solar Media Center, Worldwide Corporate Center, Epifanio de los Santos corner Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City and transmitters are located at Panay Avenue, Quezon City.
It features talk shows, dating shows, sitcoms, drama series, reality shows and entertainment news from the United States. ETC sponsors other events, particularly parties around the Metro Manila area. These events have been previously seen on Rated Oh! They also promote upcoming movies.
As of January 1, 2008 ETC ceased to air over SkyCable as a channel on its own right. However, as part of block-time agreements with various terrestrial channels, ETC carries some of its programs over SBN 21, a terrestrial UHF TV Station in Metro Manila and selected cities in the Philippines. By March 2, 2011, ETC is moved to RPN while SBN 21 changed to Talk TV. Currently ETC on RPN is broadcasted from 7:00am–12:00 midnight (except on 6:00–7:00 pm also on weekdays which is occupied by Solar Network News, simulcast over Solar News Channel), while it was broadcasted 24 hours on cable networks.
