Awards
Ernest Bevin College and Sixth Form Centre has received a number of awards, as the cause of its High Standards of achievement that is expected in every single aspect of College Life. These include recognition of our specialist schools status and Leading Edge status in recognition of our work as a consultant school.
Sports College Status
Sports Colleges are part of the government’s Specialist School Initiative. Their mission is to promote sporting prowess amongst secondary school students by raising standards in teaching and learning in physical education and by providing a wide variety of team and individual sports. Sports Colleges also continue to provide a broad education through the National Curriculum.
Maths & Computing College Status
Following the success of our Sports College Status we have developed a second specialism in Mathematics and Computing. We are now a local centre for excellence in Mathematics and Computing and seek to influence achievement in these subjects both within the local community and with other partnership schools.
SSAT Consultant School Accreditation
Consultant School Accreditation has been developed by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust to recognise and quality assure the work of schools which support other schools. EBC has been accredited as a consultant school in recognition of our Leading Edge status awarded by the Department of Education.
Healthy Schools Award
Ernest Bevin College was the first secondary school in Wandsworth to be awarded the nationally recognised ‘Healthy Schools Status’ in recognition of its whole school/whole child approach to health.
Education Business Partnership
Ernest Bevin College has been awarded the London Excellence Work Experience Award. The award recognises our long standing commitment to the provision of high quality work experience and its importance in the curriculum.
The FA Charter Standard Award
EBC was awarded the Football Association’s Charter Standard School’s award which is a core component of the FA’s Football Development programme and means we meet the FA’s standards.
Sport England Sportsmark Gold
EBC was awarded Sportsmark Gold in recognition of our “outstanding physical education and sports provision” by Sport England.
