Plans
- Ongar: With the track now relaid, works are progressing to restore the station and install signalling. Focus has turned to helping increase flexibility and the service frequency, restoring the former cattle and milk platforms, all as part of the works towards once again running passenger trains to Epping.
- Epping Glade: It is intended to extend passenger trains to Epping, with plans having the train terminating at a new platform near to the present London Underground Epping tube station, called Epping Glade. This will require significant investment and will be tackled once the line has re-opened with steam services.
- Coopersale Halt: The possibility of building a halt at Coopersale village where the train presently stops is under consideration, subject to securing sufficient investment from outside sources and a consultation with residents.
- North Weald: As part of the infrastructure works the railway is restoring the former goods yard, giving much needed siding space, and putting back full signalling with both semaphore and colour light signals. This enables loco hauled trains, operational flexibility and will enable an increased service frequency. The former Woodford GER latticework footbridge will also be completed, replacing the condemned LU Concrete structure.
- Steam: The railway is likely to home the new build F5 for some time after completion, being a prototypical engine of the former Great Eastern branch. Guest locomotives, both steam and diesel may appear from time to time alongside this home fleet.

“The human mind plans the way, but the LORD directs the steps.”

“In order to become spoiled ... a child has to be able to want things as well as need them. He has to be able to see himself as a being who is separate from everyone else.... A baby is none of these things. He feels a need and he expresses it. He is not intellectually capable of working out involved plans and ideas like Can I make her give me...? If I make enough fuss he will...? They let me do ... yesterday and I want to do it again today so Ill....”
—Penelope Leach (20th century)
“Man you ought to see his plans for allsteel buildins. Hes got an idea the skyscraper of the futurell be built of steel and glass. Hes got a great sayin about some Roman emperor who found Rome of brick and left it of marble. Well he says hes found New York of brick an that hes goin to leave it of steel... steel an glass.”
