Bonnybrook Energy Centre
The Bonnybrook Energy Centre is a natural gas-fired cogeneration facility that will be built in Calgary’s southeast industrial zone. Once built, Bonnybrook will generate 165 MW of electricity, which is approximately half of downtown Calgary’s energy requirements. This facility will reduce the amount of fresh water used by reusing industrial wastewater from the nearby Canada malting site and will play an integral role in heating office buildings in downtown Calgary. Bonnybrook will emit less than half of the carbon dioxide associated with conventional coal-fired facilities and will enhance the reliability of the region’s power supply.

Famous quotes containing the words energy and/or centre:
“Reckoned physiologically, everything ugly weakens and afflicts man. It recalls decay, danger, impotence; he actually suffers a loss of energy in its presence. The effect of the ugly can be measured with a dynamometer. Whenever man feels in any way depressed, he senses the proximity of something ugly. His feeling of power, his will to power, his courage, his pridethey decline with the ugly, they increase with the beautiful.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
“A toddling little girl is a centre of common feeling which makes the most dissimilar people understand each other.”
—George Eliot [Mary Ann (or Marian)
