Energy Bill 2012
The Energy Bill 2012 aims to closing a number of coal and nuclear power stations over the next two decades, to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and has financial incentives to reduce energy demand. Government climate change targets are to produce 30% of electricity from renewable sources by 2020, to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 50% on 1990 levels by 2025 and by 80% on 1990 levels by 2050.

Famous quotes containing the words energy and/or bill:
“After the planet becomes theirs, many millions of years will have to pass before a beetle particularly loved by God, at the end of its calculations will find written on a sheet of paper in letters of fire that energy is equal to the mass multiplied by the square of the velocity of light. The new kings of the world will live tranquilly for a long time, confining themselves to devouring each other and being parasites among each other on a cottage industry scale.”
—Primo Levi (19191987)
“Its true Ive got no shirts to wear;
Its true my butchers bill is due;
Its true my prospects all look blue
But dont let that unsettle you:”
—Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (18361911)
