Emperor Murakami - Traditional Narrative

Traditional Narrative

Before he ascended to the Chrysanthemum Throne, his personal name (imina) was Nariakira-shinnō (成明親王).

Nariakira-shinnō was the 14th son of Emperor Daigo, and the younger brother of Emperor Suzaku by another mother.

Murakami had ten Empresses and Imperial consorts and 19 Imperial sons and daughters. He had a very nice biwa called Kenjō.

Famous quotes containing the words traditional and/or narrative:

The traditional American husband and father had the responsibilities—and the privileges—of playing the role of primary provider. Sharing that role is not easy. To yield exclusive access to the role is to surrender some of the potential for fulfilling the hero fantasy—a fantasy that appeals to us all. The loss is far from trivial.
    Faye J. Crosby (20th century)

The narrative impulse is always with us; we couldn’t imagine ourselves through a day without it.
    Robert Coover (b. 1932)
