Current Construction
Emmanuel is currently working with architect Rob Chandler (Goody Clancy) who has been with the school since the early 1990s. Rob has designed the Jean Yawkey Center, the Maureen Murphy Wilkens Science Center, and renovations to the East Wing of the Administration building. Plans for the West Wing of the Administration building were shown to students on February 14, 2012, in a Student Government Meeting. Sister Anne Mary Donovan, treasurer, and Kristen Conroy, Assistant Vice President of Operations, were present. Blueprints, in response to Performing Arts students request, were shown. The final plans are to build three new classrooms (a tiered classroom and two regular), place air-conditioning and a new elevator in the Auditorium (2nd floor) and renovate classroom space on the 3 floors above. To quote Rob Chandler, "The college has asked us to look hard to see what would make it work better for theatrical performances. We go up one more floor and it’s primarily classrooms. There are spaces that are being developed that are interactive spaces." Student input from the rising Individualized Major of Performing Arts/Theater was sought out in the process of renovating the Auditorium, a space primarily used for Theater productions but other campus activities as well. The students are grateful for the voice they are given in campus related affairs.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or construction:
“Phlebas the Phoenician, a fortnight dead,
Forgot the cry of gulls, and the deep sea swell
And the profit and loss.
A current under sea
Picked his bones in whispers. As he rose and fell
He passed the stages of his age and youth
Entering the whirlpool.”
—T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
“No real vital character in fiction is altogether a conscious construction of the author. On the contrary, it may be a sort of parasitic growth upon the authors personality, developing by internal necessity as much as by external addition.”
—T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
