James Alexander Spaulding (previous James Lemay Jr.) is a fictional character on the daytime soap opera Guiding Light. He was portrayed by Desmond and Aidan Young from June 2000 until September 2001. He was later played by Caleb Collins from October 2007 until February 2008, and by Zack Conroy from April until September 2009.
James is the son of Phillip Spaulding and Beth Raines. He is born on June 29, 2000 (later changed to 1991) and initially believed to the child of Beth's husband James Lemay. James has four siblings, older sister Lizzie Spaulding, older paternal half-brother Zach Spaulding, younger paternal half-sister Emma Spaulding and younger maternal half-sister Peyton Spaulding. James's bone marrow is used to save Lizzie's life.
In 2008, James is supposed to be the star of the church play, but he is pushed off the stage by Will Winslow. In April 2009, he returns to town as an adult to see his father, who has been pardoned for his crimes. It turns out that James hooked up with the Governor's daughter, Amy Young, to get Philip released.
