In Portuguese law, Electronic Power of Attorney allows someone to provide a proxy or a civil representative with the necessary powers, granted by electronic means and using the technology in place and the Cartão de Cidadão (literally Citizen's Card). This power of attorney has the same legal value as the traditional paper power of attorney and is duly hand-signed.
