Electoral District Of Gosnells

Gosnells is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia.

The district is based in the south-eastern suburbs of Perth. It includes almost all of the suburb of Gosnells, large parts of the suburbs of Huntingdale and Thornlie and a small part of the suburb of Martin.

Politically, Gosnells appears to be a safe Labor seat. Based on the results of the 2005 state election, the district was created with a Labor Party majority of 61.5% to 38.5% versus the Liberal Party. At the next state election in 2008 the majority dropped to 55.9% with the Australian Labor Party. and 44.5% with the Liberal Party of Australia.

The upcoming state election will take place on March 9, 2012 and will see Chris Tallentire go up against new candidate for the Liberal Party of Australia, David Goode.
