Famous quotes containing the words elections and/or northern:
“Apparently, a democracy is a place where numerous elections are held at great cost without issues and with interchangeable candidates.”
—Gore Vidal (b. 1925)
“There exists in a great part of the Northern people a gloomy diffidence in the moral character of the government. Will the American government steal? Will it lie? Will it kill?We ask triumphantly.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
