Koike has been married to professional wrestler/mixed martial arts fighter Wataru Sakata since 29 August 2007.
During her Pride FC commentating days, Eiko appeared be a big fan of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. She was also seen visibly sobbing at Nogueira's first Pride defeat by Fedor Emelianenko, as well as standing out of her seat and cheering during Nogueira's submission victory over Mirko Filipovic.
