According to the 2006 Census, there were 54,875 Egyptians in Canada, while more recent estimates by Egyptian Canadian Associations total 60,000 . The largest religious group among Egyptian Canadians are the Coptic Orthodox Christians, who number around 50,000 members in Canada, although there are other groups that have a smaller presence, such as the Sunni Muslims, Coptic Catholic Christians, Coptic Evangelical Christians and Armenian Egyptians
