Eggshell in Human Culture
Interior design
- The color eggshell is commonly used in interior design when one desires a pale warm neutral off-white color. However eggshell paint also refers to a type of hard-wearing wall paint with the same matte sheen as an egg's shell, rather than the same color; consequently eggshell paint can be any color, not just off-white. A light blue color is a common for eggshell.

Famous quotes containing the words eggshell, human and/or culture:
“Think of our little eggshell of a canoe tossing across that great lake, a mere black speck to the eagle soaring above it!”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“I cant make head or tail of Life. Love is a fine thing, Art is a fine thing, Nature is a fine thing; but the average human mind and spirit are confusing beyond measure. Sometimes I think that all our learning is the little learning of the maxim. To laugh at a Roman awe-stricken in a sacred grove is to laugh at something today.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
“The hard truth is that what may be acceptable in elite culture may not be acceptable in mass culture, that tastes which pose only innocent ethical issues as the property of a minority become corrupting when they become more established. Taste is context, and the context has changed.”
—Susan Sontag (b. 1933)
