Famous quotes containing the word life:
“We swim, day by day, on a river of delusions, and are effectually amused with houses and towns in the air, of which the men about us are dupes. But life is a sincerity.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“After I discovered the real life of mothers bore little resemblance to the plot outlined in most of the books and articles Id read, I started relying on the expert advice of other mothersespecially those with sons a few years older than mine. This great body of knowledge is essentially an oral history, because anyone engaged in motherhood on a daily basis has no time to write an advice book about it.”
—Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
“Nothing in life possesses value except the degree of powerassuming that life itself is the will to power.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
