Famous quotes containing the word death:

And yet the sun pardons our voices still,
    And berries in the hedge
Through all the nights of rain have come to the full,
And death seems like long hills, a range
We ride each day towards, and never reach.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

Why wait for Death to mow?
why wait for Death to sow
    us in the ground?
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)

A man that apprehends death no more dreadfully but as a drunken sleep, careless, reckless, and fearless of what’s past, present, or to come; insensible of mortality, and desperately mortal.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
