Edward D. Swift (born 1871) was an American astronomer. He was the son of the astronomer Lewis Swift.
His father discovered many comets, and Edward Swift followed in his footsteps by co-discovering the periodic comet 54P/de Vico-Swift-NEAT.
Famous quotes containing the word swift:
“I am struck by the way people behave on the Tube. They look at each other beadily and inquisitively, and something goes on in their thoughts which must be equivalent to the way dogs and other animals, when they meet, sniff each others arses and nuzzle each others fur.”
—Graham Swift (b. 1949)
