Eduardo Miguel Perez - Stu Hart and The Sugar Hold

Stu Hart and The Sugar Hold

Known as somewhat of a legitimate "tough guy" shootfighter outside of the ring, Perez was reputedly one of the few men who escaped the notorious submission "sugar hold" of Stu Hart in his famed basement training facility, "The Dungeon" during a short stay in the Calgary, Canada promotion. This was confirmed by former pro wrestling star Superstar Billy Graham who was training at the gym during the late 1960s.

Famous quotes containing the words hart, sugar and/or hold:

    Hallelujah, I’m a bum again!
    —Lorenz Hart (1895–1943)

They give us a pair of cloth shorts twice a year for all our clothing. When we work in the sugar mills and catch our finger in the millstone, they cut off our hand; when we try to run away, they cut off our leg: both things have happened to me. It is at this price that you eat sugar in Europe.
    Voltaire [François Marie Arouet] (1694–1778)

My ambition for station was always easily controlled. If the place came to me it was welcome. But it never seemed to me worth seeking at the cost of self-respect, or independence. My family were not historic; they were well-to-do, did not hold or seek office. It was easy for me to be contented in private life. An honor was no honor to me, if obtained by my own seeking.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
